Short Bio
  • I am a biomedical scientist specializing in basic and translational research in pulmonary vascular biology, tumor angiogenesis, and cancer metastasis. My current research includes mechanistic characterization of cell-cell barrier junctions, cellular plasticity, and cellular transformations such as epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), endothelial-to-mesenchymal Transition (EndMT), and myofibroblast differentiation in cancer and acute lung injury due to infections (including COVID-19), organ fibrosis, and injury resolution. I have published over 90 high-impact publications, several book chapters, and a textbook, the majority of which I am a senior or lead author. I have an h-index of 36, an i10-index of 64, and my publications have received more than 4100 citations.
