Short Bio
  • Vicente Notario received his Ph,D. in Biology (1977) from Salamanca University, Spain, and post-doctoral training at Cambridge University, England, and the U.S. National Cancer Institute. In 1986 he joined the Georgetown University Medical Center, where is currently Professor of Radiation Medicine and of Biochemistry and Molecular & Cellular Biology, and Molecular Oncology Leader at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Notario’s research explores molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in cancer initiation and progression and in the acquisition of anti-cancer therapy resistance. Dr. Notario authored over 150 publications, and has been recognized by (1) continuous funding from the U.S. National Cancer Institute, (2) numerous national and international speaker invitations, (3) editorial membership positions for internationally recognized journals, and (4) invitations to U.S. and international scientific review and advisory committees and to ad hoc reviewing by over 50 scientific journals. Dr. Notario’s teaches medical and graduate courses on Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Radiation Biology, Molecular Basis of Carcinogenesis, Tumor Biology and Cancer Epigenetics.
